Cassowary Coast REPA
DRFA Reconstruction Works
Location: Cassowary Coast Region, QLD
Client: Durack Civil (Principal Contractor)

Project Overview:
Stratos Civil delivered the REPA Zone 4 restoration works across the Cassowary Coast following significant wet-season damage. The package focused on reinstating road formation, clearing debris, restoring drainage capacity and improving erosion control measures along the affected network.
The works were delivered under strict DRFA/REPA compliance requirements, with detailed documentation, QA verification and close coordination with the client.
Scope of Works:
Implementation of erosion and sediment control
Desilting and clearing of table drains
Removal of mixed flood debris
Bulk fill import for reconstruction
Heavy formation grading incorporating gravel material
Challenges & Solutions:
Widespread debris across multiple sites
→ Mobilised multiple crews and plant to clear and reinstate access quickly.
Drainage capacity severely reduced due to silt buildup
→ Systematic desilting program restored water flow and reduced future scouring.
Soft, saturated road conditions
→ Imported bulk fill and gravel to rebuild formation strength and improve trafficability.
Variable weather during works
→ Adjusted sequencing and utilised robust erosion and sediment controls to maintain compliance.

Project Outcome:
The REPA Zone 4 package was completed safely, efficiently and in accordance with DRFA/REPA standards. Road formation, drainage channels and access routes were restored to a functional and safe condition, reducing the risk of further damage and supporting community access throughout the Cassowary Coast region.
