Project Overview:

Stratos Civil delivered the civil works package for the Cadets Bridging Solutions facility, supporting the construction of a new operational training area. Works included full site preparation, access establishment, cut/fill earthworks, material importation and placement, and pavement construction for the underside of the concrete carpark. The project required tight sequencing and compliance with the client’s safety and operational protocols.

Scope of Works:

• Implementation of erosion and sediment control measures

• Construction of a gravel access track into site

• Stripping and stockpiling of topsoil onsite

• Cut to fill of in-situ material

• Import, placement and compaction of screened fill

• Import, placement and compaction of Type 2.1 roadbase pavement for the underside of the concrete carpark

Challenges & Solutions:

Restricted access for early works → Constructed a stabilised gravel access track to enable reliable plant movement

Variable in-situ material → Undertook controlled cut-to-fill operations supported by compaction testing

Strict operational and safety requirements → Coordinated sequencing and controls in collaboration with site management

Project Outcome:

The works were completed safely, on program, and delivered a stable, well-compacted platform ready for construction of the concrete carpark and associated infrastructure. The controlled earthworks and pavement structure ensured long-term performance and compliance with project specifications.
