Project Overview

Stratos Civil delivered the Ann Road Pavement Rehabilitation project for Cassowary Coast Regional Council to improve usability of road network that was showing signs of pavement failure.

The project required detailed planning with local businesses and high-standard pavement construction to ensure long-term durability.

Scope of Works:

• Project planning and liaising with stakeholders

• Traffic management design and implementation ensuring businesses maintained operational during works.

• Profiling of existing pavement and disposing offsite.

• Proof roll inspection of profiled surface to confirm suitable for asphalt replacement

• Multiple asphalt pavement layers including seal on gravel base and grid placement between layers 1 and 2 for additional strength

Challenges & Solutions:

• Works required to be coordinated with local businesses

• Timing of works crucial to avoid exposing profiled surface to inclement weather events

• Inspections of existing material to ensure suitable for placement

Project Outcomes:

The Ann Road Pavement Rehabilitation was completed to TMR engineering specifications with a high-quality asphalt pavement finish.

The new pavement with provide reliable access for road users. All works were delivered safely, accurately and within the Client’s project schedule.
